Sewing with Julian

I spent an afternoon sewing with my Nanny and my brother Julian. We made some really cool cat cushions (you can find the pattern here).

Here I am quilting the background for my cushion. I can zip along really fast now.

Julian likes to quilt, too. He’s pretty good for a beginner.

He also likes to clip threads. All of them.

I really know how to appliqué well on the machine! I love to appliqué.

I am heat setting the shapes on Julian’s cushion to appliqué. This time we used some cool spray that you put on the back of your piece and then use the iron to press it on. It sticks so your shape doesn’t move while you are sewing.

Here we are with our finished cushions! It’s very easy… you can do it, too!
